We understand that long-term accommodation is important for people leaving the Armed Forces. We can provide you with information and advice to help you find good quality, affordable housing that meets your individual needs.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council: We offer advice about a wide range of housing options and services that may be of interest.

Kent Homechoice: Service for Kent housing applicants – providing information and help on finding a home to rent from councils and housing associations in Kent.

Other Organisations

Joint Service Housing Advice Office: Key documents and fact sheets relating to civilian Housing Options and the Joint Service Housing Advice Office home page.

West Kent YMCA: Work primarily with young men and women facing major issues in their life - such as homelessness, family breakdown, emotional and mental health difficulties, neglect, drug or alcohol abuse.

Shelter: Advice on housing, where to live and homelessness.

The Royal British Legion: Provides short and long term care for serving and ex-Service people and their dependants in Royal British Legion Care Homes around the country.

Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA): Offers advice and assistance to anyone eligible for their help, whether they are serving or ex-service, or a family member of someone with a service connection. SSAFA also provide housing and residential home facilities.

Health and Wellbeing

Information on healthcare support and services.

NHS Armed Forces Healthcare: Healthcare information for military personnel and veterans, including getting treatment and contacts. Covers hospital care; rehabilitation; mental health services and veterans.

Samaritans: A confidential emotional support service.

Big White Wall: A safe online community of people who are anxious, down or not coping who support and help each other by sharing what’s troubling them, guided by trained professionals.

West Kent Clinical Commissioning Group: For information on local health services including access to GPs and dentists.

Kent & Medway Armed Forces Network: A new network that provides information about free at the point of access mental health services for ex-military personnel across Kent and Medway.

Live It Well: This website, funded by Kent County Council, has been designed to help you maintain your wellbeing and link you in to what is available to support you locally.

Kent Sheds: A new initiative that supports men and ex-service personnel to set up ‘Shed’ projects across the county, coming together to work alongside each other, sharing skills and developing friendships.
