Petitions

The Council welcomes petitions and recognises that they are one way in which people can let us know their concerns. All petitions will be handled in accordance with the Tunbridge Wells Petition Scheme. This page summarises the key elements of Scheme and provides details of any current or recent petitions.


Submit a petition

Petitions submitted to the Council must include:

Petitions must be accompanied by contact details of the petition organiser, who can be anyone who lives, works or studies in the area of the Borough Council. This is normally the person we will liaise with concerning the petition.

E-Petitions

An e-petition is the same as a written petition except that it is 'signed' electronically and is delivered to the Council through our approved e-petition software.

Petition will be considered by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee who may hear evidence in public from a Senior Officer of the Council


1000 or more signatures:

Petition requiring Full Council debate
