Comment on a planning application

The easiest and quickest way to comment on an application is to use the comment button when viewing an application on our planning application search website.

To make comments you will need to be a registered user.

Comment now

Alternatively, comments can be submitted by email or in writing, you will need to include the following information in order for your comments or objections to be registered:

  • your full name
  • your full address
  • the reference number of the application or the full address of the property to which your comments relate to
  • your comments and/or objections

All comments received will be added to the planning application file and on to the planning application search website.

By sending your comments you confirm that you agree to this and that you accept legal responsibility for your comments.

Public notifications on applications

As advised in the autumn 2016 edition of our Local magazine, it was intended that from 1 October 2016 letters will no longer be sent to neighbouring properties advising of applications, but will instead be publicised by the site notices (or local newspaper where required by legislation).

A set of procedures and protocols have been drawn up advising where and how site notices will be placed to ensure that any affected party will be aware of an application, together with other information on how to comment on applications.
