National Apprenticeship Week 2026

Category: News Published: Tuesday 24 February 2026

TWBC hosted an apprenticeship event alongside the Department for Work and Pensions and other organisations to promote apprenticeship opportunities for people of all ages.

From 9-15 February, National Apprenticeship Week highlighted the value of apprenticeships in helping people earn while they learn. The campaign aimed to raise awareness of how apprenticeships provide paid, practical experience alongside structured training.

The Council and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) hosted an apprenticeship event alongside other partner organisations at the Camden Centre on Wednesday 11 February. Local clients were offered information on current apprenticeship vacancies and were able to explore routes into a wide range of careers. The National Careers Service also came along and provided valuable information to attendees. The event was supported by HM Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Clients were also directed to online apprenticeship resources including the National Apprenticeship Week website and the GOV.UK apprenticeship search service, where people can browse and apply for positions nationwide.

For those who may have missed the event, these online resources remain available year round.

Continued support is there for anyone considering an apprenticeship as a pathway to new skills and employment.
